Ben Carroll is on his way to becoming Victoria's next premier, following Jacinta Allan's resignation. The Guardian reports that Carroll, who was elected to parliament in twenty twelve, emerged as Allan's only contender for the leadership on Monday. It's his second bid for the top job—he previously ran in twenty twenty-three but came up short. After that earlier loss, Carroll told a press conference he was 'always very keen to rise.'
