Thinking of posting pictures of your child online? Ask these 4 questions first

Parents post their kids online every day, but new eSafety Commissioner advice warns AI has sharply raised the risks, including photos harvested from school pages being used to generate abusive images. The regulator flagged a rise in such reports this week, and research cited alongside it estimates AI plays a role in roughly one in four cases of image-based child sexual abuse. Beyond that extreme, surveys suggest most kids have had a photo shared they didn't want out there, feeling embarrassed or powerless as a result. The Conversation reports simple habits, like skipping school logos, house numbers, and identifying captions, can meaningfully cut the risk before you hit post.
