Drive a monitor from your microcontroller with a USB graphics display adapter

A new open-source library called Pico_USB_Disp lets microcontrollers like the Raspberry Pi Pico and ESP32 drive computer monitors directly via USB, without needing an operating system. Per Adafruit Blog, the library implements USB display protocols on the microcontroller itself, enabling Full HD output at sixty hertz refresh rate using just two USB data lines. It integrates with graphics libraries like LovyanGFX and LVGL v9, and is available as open-source code on GitHub with support for multiple development toolchains.
