A magnitude six point eight earthquake struck Kumamoto prefecture on Japan's southern Kyushu island Tuesday afternoon, injuring at least one hundred people and cutting power to thousands of homes. The Guardian reports that a shopping mall partially collapsed, trapping people inside, with some feared dead.
