France 24 is reporting that Zinedine Zidane has been appointed head coach of the French national football team, following France's fourth-place finish at the World Cup. The legendary midfielder and former Real Madrid manager has stepped out of the spotlight in recent years, but returns now to lead Les Bleus. Zidane cited his longtime desire for the role, saying coaching France was the only thing he wanted to do.
