New airliner sets record flying 24 hrs nonstop from Australia to France

A new Airbus passenger jet has successfully completed an ultra-long test flight from Toulouse, France to Melbourne, Australia, according to Ars Technica. The A350-1000ULR flew for nineteen hours and thirteen minutes, demonstrating endurance for ultra-long-haul routes. Developed specifically for Qantas Airways—which has ordered twelve of these aircraft—the plane will support Project Sunrise, an initiative to launch the world's longest nonstop commercial flights between Sydney and either New York or London. Tickets are expected to go on sale in twenty twenty-seven.
