Astronomers have finally captured an image of Betelgeuse's companion star, confirming what researchers have suspected for years. The Very Large Telescope in the Atacama Desert made the breakthrough, Boing Boing reports, imaging what had long remained hidden next to the bloated supergiant. Researcher Miguel Montargès of the Observatoire de Paris called it the conclusion of a century-long quest.
