On Tuesday, the federal government issued a new executive order requiring quantum-resistant cryptography. Quantum computers could one day break the encryption that protects sensitive data worldwide. This executive order requires government agencies and contractors to migrate to quantum-resistant alternatives by twenty thirty. According to Cloudflare, the order creates a solid foundation for this transition, though some areas could be strengthened. Cloudflare has released a migration guide to help organizations prepare.
