Japan earthquake injures at least 100 and kills two inside shopping mall

A six point eight magnitude earthquake has struck Kumamoto prefecture on Japan's southern Kyushu island, The Guardian reports, killing at least two people and injuring more than one hundred. The quake hit late on Tuesday afternoon, cutting power to thousands of homes and damaging roads, bridges and buildings. According to the outlet, rescuers are working to reach people trapped inside a shopping mall, some of whom are feared dead.
