Iran launches missiles at U.S. base for first time since Trump paused strikes
world
Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan on Tuesday, per Axios. All missiles were intercepted, according to Central Command. The strike marks Iran's first ballistic missile attack against an American base since President Trump paused military operations Friday to pursue diplomatic talks. Trump told Axios Monday the U.S. was engaged in very deep talks with Iran, but he warned he'd resume strong military action if diplomacy failed. The attack threatens to unravel these fragile negotiations and targeted the same base where two U.S. service members were killed earlier this month.
