France evacuates thousands as fires displace a third of a million in southwest Europe

French authorities have ordered 4,000 more people evacuated from tourist sites along the Atlantic coast, NPR News reports, as wildfires push the country toward what may be its largest peacetime evacuation. Across southwest Europe, the fires have already displaced roughly a third of a million people.
