Since Death Penalty’s Return 50 Years Ago, Missouri Executes Prisoners at High Rate

Missouri has executed more than half of the prisoners it has sentenced to death since the death penalty's reinstatement fifty years ago, The Marshall Project reports, far outpacing the eighteen percent execution rate seen nationally. The gap places Missouri among the most active states in actually carrying out death sentences rather than leaving them pending for decades.
