world
UNESCO has added six centuries-old medinas in Comoros to its World Heritage List. France 24 reports these ancient sites, built as far back as the twelfth century, feature medieval palaces, mosques, and public squares linked by narrow streets and protected by medieval walls. The designation has earned praise from the island nation's authorities and heritage conservationists alike.
