BTS boycott Grammys after introduction of new Asian pop prize

South Korean K-pop superstars BTS have withdrawn from the two thousand twenty-seven Grammy Awards, declining to submit their Arirang album or its songs. Per The Guardian, the group's withdrawal appears connected to the Recording Academy's introduction of a new award for best Asian pop music performance. In Instagram posts, all seven members explained their hope that music can be heard and loved for what it is rather than being divided by region or language.
