Scrap Pinball Parts Become Beautiful Wall Art
tech
Per Hackaday, maker [Hans Scharler] recently upcycled a 1970s Atari Superman pinball playfield into a striking piece of wall art instead of trying to restore the full machine. He sourced missing plastic inserts, fabricated custom pop bumpers using 3D printing to serve as LED light guides, and populated the board with programmable LEDs controlled by a WLED controller linked to his CheerLights MQTT server. The result is functional decoration and a showcase of what's possible when you combine retro arcade hardware with modern electronics.
