‘Vibe coding’ is fun and easy, but there’s a major catch
dev_tools
You can now build an app by asking an AI chatbot to write it. Tell it what you want, and within minutes, you have working code. It's fast and opens programming to people with no technical background. But here's the catch: software that looks like it works isn't always secure. The Conversation reports that roughly forty-five percent of AI-generated code samples failed standard security tests. Professional developers spend time testing whether data stays secure and what happens when things go wrong – questions most beginners never ask. Vibe coding is great for prototypes, but if your app handles personal information, it still needs careful human oversight and testing.
