One of Australia's nineteen Closing the Gap targets has officially been reached, the Guardian reports: early childhood education enrolment for First Nations children hit ninety-five percent across the country. That's up from sixty-one point three percent in twenty sixteen. The Productivity Commission's annual data compilation showed improvements in eight other targets, including employment and education. However, the report flags significant concerns, with worsening outcomes in early childhood development, children in out-of-home care, incarceration rates, and suicide.
