NASA Awards 2026 Innovative Technology Concepts

NASA has awarded eighteen grants totaling three point two million dollars to early-stage space exploration concepts. Per NASA, each Phase I award provides up to one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars for a nine-month investigation into projects including robotic systems to explore the Moon's lava tubes, swarms of tiny satellites to map Saturn's rings, novel propulsion systems for deep space, and instruments hardened for Venus's extreme heat. NASA says these aren't official missions yet, but early-stage concept investigations that could seed breakthroughs in space exploration.
