Meta's stock tumbled nearly eight percent on Wednesday following second-quarter earnings that fell short of expectations, per The Guardian. The decline occurred despite chief executive Mark Zuckerberg's recent media campaign promoting artificial intelligence, including a Wall Street Journal op-ed published the day before in which he expressed optimism about a world where everyone has access to a super-intelligent machine.
