Hadi Matar has been convicted of terror offenses over the 2022 stabbing attack on author Salman Rushdie, with prosecutors saying he was attempting to aid Hezbollah, BBC News reports. Rushdie, the British-Indian novelist behind "The Satanic Verses," survived the assault but suffered severe injuries, including the loss of sight in one eye.
