A greater crested tern found near Portland in Victoria's south-west has tested positive for H5N1, marking the first detection of the deadly bird flu strain in the state, Agriculture Victoria confirmed Thursday. H5N1 is the highly pathogenic avian influenza strain that has fueled bird flu outbreaks worldwide in recent years.
