Federal Labor member Luke Gosling, who holds the Northern Territory seat of Solomon and serves as the government's special envoy for defence and veterans affairs, has been charged with two counts of assault. The Conversation Australia reports the alleged assault occurred on Saturday, July eighteenth at a public community event at the NT Administrator's residence. The fifty-four-year-old former army commando was arrested Thursday and bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on September first, with his barrister saying the claim is completely denied and will be contested.
