Euronews reports that a one-million-euro home across Europe comes with a monthly mortgage of almost three thousand six hundred euros—a barrier that puts homeownership out of reach for most EU citizens, since a third of average gross salary cannot cover that payment alone. Even in Luxembourg, the EU's most favorable market, buyers need one point six times the average salary to afford such a purchase.
