Drone reveals charred forest landscape after wildfires scorch France

Drone footage from Wednesday shows the aftermath of wildfires in southwestern France's Landes region, west of Bordeaux — scorched earth, uprooted trees, and destroyed homes near Le Temple. The blaze tore through forty-two thousand hectares of mostly pine forest, forcing authorities to evacuate roughly two hundred twenty thousand holidaymakers and residents. France 24 reports about sixty thousand have since been allowed to return home.
