EU expected to probe Balkan construction material imports over suspected Chinese tariff-dodging

The European Union is expected to investigate construction material imports from the Balkans, according to Euronews, following suspicions that manufacturers there are skirting tariffs by using Chinese glass fiber. That fiber already carries European anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties, imposed for unfair pricing and state support. The concern is that some parties may be routing these materials through Balkan intermediaries to avoid those costs.
