Maria and Czeslaw Krupa have called the UK home for nearly eighty years. They arrived after the Second World War as dependents of Polish service members who had fled their country, welcomed as refugees. But in May, while visiting Poland, they discovered their welcome had expired. Post-Brexit immigration rules now required special documentation they didn't have, and Ryanair refused to let them board their flight home to Bury. Per The Guardian, the couple who've lived in Britain since 1947 and 1948 were suddenly locked out—eight decades of residency rendered insufficient by rules that didn't exist years before.
