Russia adds Telegram founder Pavel Durov to list of ‘terrorists and extremists’

Russia's Federal Financial Monitoring Service has added Pavel Durov, founder of the messaging app Telegram, to its list of terrorists and extremists, according to Meduza. The FSB charged Durov with aiding terrorist activity, alleging that Telegram's administration failed to remove channels and bots used to coordinate terrorist attacks and sabotage in Russia. Durov is under criminal investigation and has been placed on an international wanted list. He has not publicly commented on the charges.
