Fifa could draw US Congress inquiry over ‘smash-and-grab scam’, top Democrat warns

On Thursday, the Guardian reported that Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, warned FIFA could face a congressional investigation into its financial and political ties to Donald Trump and his family — but only if Democrats win back the House in November. Raskin called FIFA's proposed multibillion-dollar privatization of its commercial operations a "smash-and-grab scam of colossal proportions."
