Australian Rose Davies wins gold in 5,000m in second Commonwealth Games triumph

Per The Guardian, Australian runner Rose Davies has made Commonwealth Games history in Glasgow, becoming the first woman ever to win gold in both the five-thousand and ten-thousand meter races at the same Games. The Newcastle-born twenty-six-year-old claimed the five-thousand-meter title on Friday after a close race with her Australian teammate Jessica Hull. Davies dropped to her knees in celebration of the landmark double.
