A Vermont pharmacy chain deployed an AI assistant named Burt, after the long-dead founder, expecting efficiency improvements. Boing Boing reports the system has instead caused delays, provided incorrect information, gotten dosages wrong, suggested inappropriate refills, and raised privacy concerns — along with excessive customer calls.
