The death toll from southwestern Japan's earthquake has climbed to thirty-four, NPR News reports, with searchers continuing to work through the Kumamoto area, including at the site of a collapsed mall where some of the most serious damage was recorded. The magnitude seven point one quake struck the southern island of Kyushu on Tuesday.
