Labour hire firm paid Mick Gatto more than $1m to secure work on Big Build, CFMEU inquiry told

According to The Guardian, an integrity inquiry heard on Friday that a labour hire firm paid underworld figure Mick Gatto more than one million dollars over nine years to secure work on Victoria's Big Build projects. The firm's lawyer told the inquiry this payment was made for that purpose, but denied the directors were Gatto's "frontmen," in response to allegations he controlled the company through dummy directors.
