France's southwest faces 'optimistic day' as half of evacuees return home

More than half of the two hundred twenty thousand people evacuated from southwest France have been allowed to return home, France 24 reports, as firefighters continue battling a massive wildfire west of Bordeaux. The blaze has destroyed more than two hundred homes and burned through forty-two thousand hectares, and has killed two firemen. France 24's Carys Garland is on the ground covering the story as Friday brought what officials called an 'optimistic day.'
