Wait goes on for result in Greater Manchester mayoral by-election – as it happened

A court in the UK has cleared the way for a major Chinese embassy in central London. The Guardian reports that the Royal Mint Court Residents' Association challenged the decision to permit construction of the super-embassy near the Tower of London, but the high court dismissed their legal challenge, allowing the project to proceed.
