Variety reports that Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland's superhero careers have been intertwined since before they officially began. In twenty fifteen, while filming the period drama Pilgrimage, the two actors filmed audition tapes for each other — Bernthal auditioning for the Punisher, Holland for Spider-Man. They've been playing these Marvel roles ever since, now a decade into their respective careers with these characters.
