Tech outlet ‘Kod Durova’ drops Pavel Durov’s name from its title after the Telegram founder is added to Russia’s ‘terrorist and extremist’ list

Russian technology outlet Kod Durova has rebranded as Kod.ru, dropping Pavel Durov's name from its title. The editors said the rebrand was long in planning, but this week's events accelerated it. On July twenty-ninth, Russia's FSB accused Telegram founder Durov of aiding terrorism, and the next day added him to the country's terrorist and extremist list. In the aftermath, Russian online stores have begun pulling merchandise related to Durov, and a Moscow clinic offering IVF using his donor sperm temporarily removed the program from public view, though it says the service remains available. Per Meduza, the outlet's editors emphasized they'll continue covering Durov's work, including Telegram.
