But according to Kevin Bennett, a healthcare policy professor at the University of South Carolina, the program's narrow focus on tech may miss more fundamental problems. While rural hospitals do need investment, Bennett argues that technology alone cannot address critical gaps like staffing shortages, service capacity, and financial instability that threaten their survival.
