Sri Lanka sentences two ex-security officials to death over 2019 Easter bombings

Sri Lanka has sentenced two former security officials to death over the 2019 Easter bombings. Channel NewsAsia reports the court found ex-police chief Pujith Jayasundara and former defence secretary Hemasiri Fernando failed to act despite warnings of a possible attack. The 2019 bombings targeted churches and hotels across the country, killing over two hundred people.
