A 3D-printed book turns its own G-code into raised lettering #3dThursday

tech

According to the Adafruit Blog, a new three D-printed book called Manual explores a fascinating marriage of form and function. Developed by Studio Darius Ou with Benson Chong, the book's pages, binding, and raised lettering all incorporate the actual machine instructions that guide the printer during fabrication, rendered as physical design elements. The entire object prints in a single sequence and emerges fully assembled from the print bed. The result is conceptually elegant: the book literally contains the code for its own creation, collapsing the boundary between technical blueprint and finished product.
