Breaking: Famed mountaineer Nirmal Purja confirmed dead in Pakistan avalanche

Mountaineer Nirmal Purja has been confirmed dead following an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan, ABC News reports. Purja, a former Gurkha soldier, previously set the record for the fastest ascent of all fourteen of the world's peaks above eight thousand meters.
