Browser-based 3D Editor Covers The Basics While Staying Local

Hackaday is highlighting SketchForge, a 3D modeling tool that runs entirely in your browser without requiring an account or external services. The tool takes a WYSIWYG approach—you combine primitive shapes, specify dimensions, and align parts to build objects. It also has a sketch feature: draw a shape in two dimensions, then extrude or revolve it into three dimensions. SketchForge exports to STEP format, which means you can import your designs into other CAD programs or directly into most 3D printer slicers.
