Record-breaking climber Nirmal Purja among those killed in avalanche

Nirmal Purja, the record-breaking climber known for the 14 Peaks documentary, has died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan, Al Jazeera reports. He was leading ten climbers up the mountain at the time. Purja rose to fame for summiting all fourteen of the world's eight-thousand-meter peaks in a fraction of the time previous records held.
