Scoop: Saudi crown prince raises concerns over Trump's plans for massive Iran strikes

politics

Axios reports that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told President Trump on Saturday that he has serious concerns about massive planned strikes on Iranian energy targets. Trump is considering the attack in response to Iran's missile strike on a U.S. base in Jordan and continued disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, part of a five-month conflict that has repeatedly paused for diplomatic efforts only to resume when negotiations failed. The crown prince urged de-escalation, and he's joined by Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Pakistan—all pressing both sides to step back as Qatari mediators work to reopen the Strait.
