EVs and hybrids approach half of Australian new car sales amid ongoing fuel crisis

New Australian Automobile Association data shows that between April and June, Australians bought electric and hybrid vehicles at nearly the same rate as petrol cars—with EV sales doubling in the months following the peak of the fuel price spike, according to The Guardian. Fuel prices are now tracking back toward two dollars a litre after the federal government's fuel excise reduction—which was introduced to offset the ongoing Middle East crisis—expired.
