Callas, Beethoven, bee-eaters or storks: competition seeks to redesign euro notes

The European Union is redesigning its euro bank notes and launched a public vote on what should depict them. In just one week, more than six million people cast votes on two competing visions: cultural figures like Beethoven and Marie Curie, or natural symbols such as migratory birds and waterways.
