But Vance's supporters say these attacks actually help their case, arguing the Journal represents a pre-Trump establishment faction the party has largely left behind. Vance's office counters that he's attended Congress more than two dozen times since becoming vice president, per Axios. Though some GOP traditionalists prefer Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vance is seen as having the inside track for Trump's endorsement.
