Cleveland police failed to arrest man who later killed two-year-old girl

Cleveland police failed to arrest a known paedophile for breaching a non-molestation order eighteen months before he went on to murder and sexually assault his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter, Teesside crown court has heard. The child, named as Isabelle Welsh, died on September fourteenth, twenty twenty-five, after what police described as a campaign of violence that left her body covered in bruises and with twenty-one broken bones. According to The Guardian, the earlier police failure came to light as the case was heard before Teesside crown court.
