Pause, at least after unipolarity

LessWrong contributor David Matolcski argues that military dominance by a single world power is likely to emerge this century as artificial intelligence creates decisive strategic advantages. He proposes that once such unipolarity occurs, nations should impose a prolonged pause on AI development. But achieving that endpoint safely poses a serious problem—he's skeptical that nine nuclear powers will accept the AI-enforced surveillance and weapons controls needed for a peaceful transition to global stability.
