Suspected mass bird flu deaths found in second state as Murray Watt warns ‘this is the beginning’

Aerial surveillance in Australia has detected mass bird deaths in a second state, in what appears to be an escalation of the H five bird flu outbreak. The CSIRO confirmed Australia's first mass mortality event at Baudin Rocks off South Australia's coast. Environment Minister Murray Watt said on Monday the country has begun 'a long and difficult journey,' warning this is just the beginning and that more mass mortality events are likely to follow.
