Abandoned by the US: Palestinian Americans trapped in a surge of Israeli settler violence

world

Palestinian Americans in Turmus Ayya, a West Bank village, are experiencing a terrifying rise in settler violence, The Guardian reports. Eighty percent of residents are US citizens from New York, Chicago, and New Jersey—diaspora members who return summers to share Palestinian culture with their children. Israeli settlers have placed boulders on disputed land and used molotov cocktails in the area. The heightened attacks come as US Ambassador Mike Huckabee has visited the nearby Israeli settlement of Shilo.
